1st Executive are currently working with a high tech electronics firm, based in Barnstaple, to identify a Buyer who will purchase for specific projects and respond to engineering change requirements, and ordering the required components in line with engineering releases and required timescales. The jobholder will identify suitable suppliers and monitor their performance/competitiveness whilst negotiating the price of technical products and ensuring the best acquisition cost.

Role: Buyer - Direct Materials

Location: Barnstaple, North Devon

Salary: Competitive (DoE)

Core Requirements:

• Ability to think strategically with an innovative approach to problem solving
• Excellent negotiation skills with proven track record of cost reduction through use of appropriate strategic purchasing tools
• Excellent negotiation skills
• Composites manufacturing exposure would be considered a plus
• Familiar with ERP, MRP systems & Purchasing systems

Desirable Skills and Experience:

• CIPS qualifications desirable
• Methodical approach to work & attention to detail
• Computer literate with advanced excel skills
• Highly numerate & methodical
• Good communication skills
