About the Role

We're looking for an organised, commercially focused Assistant Category Manager to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. In this role, you'll provide day-to-day support to multiple Category Managers across a variety of product categories, helping to deliver compelling ranges, drive performance, and support key projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support multiple Category Managers in the delivery of category strategies and range development.

  • Analyse sales data, customer trends, and performance reports to help inform decisions.

  • Assist with product selection, range reviews, and line detail management.

  • Work closely with internal teams (Buying, Merchandising, Marketing, Supply Chain) to ensure smooth execution of plans.

  • Help coordinate and evaluate promotional activity, price changes, and seasonal events.

  • Liaise with suppliers to manage product information, samples, and timelines.

  • Prepare reports, presentations, and documentation to support meetings and internal reviews.

  • Monitor competitor activity and market trends to identify potential opportunities.


Key Skills & Experience

  • Experience in a similar commercial, buying, or merchandising support role is advantageous-but not essential.

  • Industry background is flexible; transferable skills and commercial awareness are key.

  • Strong analytical skills with confidence in Excel and reporting tools.

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills; comfortable supporting multiple stakeholders.

  • A proactive, can-do attitude and willingness to learn quickly.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively in a dynamic environment.
