Avon is an international manufacturer and direct sales organisation operating in the beauty, household and personal care categories. It had procurement and supply chain hubs in the US and the UK with a large logistics and operations hub in Poland. Having been through a transitioning period, the company had sold off its North American business and the global HQ for procurement and supply chain is now Northampton in the UK.
Our relationship with Avon goes back to 2008 with the then Global VP of Sourcing and we have since developed relationships into Director level line managers. There were undoubtedly some challenges with the roles we were mandated to deliver on – the location was not the easiest and salary levels were obviously lower than London. However, our relationships with line meant that we were able to get a really good understanding of the culture of Avon – and the type of person who would fit and so we were able to tap into our networks to find the right people.
We have made 17 permanent placements since the beginning of our relationship including Sourcing Managers and Associates; Supply Planners, Category Leads and Category Buyers. We have also placed two interims – a Category Manager and a Print Buyer.
