One of the UKs largest and most innovative sustainable technology organisations has an urgent requirement for a Temporary Product Sustainability (LCA) Lead.

This is an initial 6-month contract offering up to £450 p/d outside IR35. The client will require two days per week on site in their Hertfordshire office.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Enabling the sector to deliver on its 2030 Sustainability targets to provide LCA information to customers for 100% of its products, support the four priority SDGs in our sales and R&D and conduct product sustainability assessments across our product
  • Working with corporate on a common standard for quantitative LCA of products, identifying & implementing common tools and methodologies for assessment appropriate to our business needs
  • Identifying and implementing other tools to improve access to quality information on the product sustainability attributes to drive decision making in R&D and NPI programs, to enhance marketing and to meet customers' requests for LCA information.
  • Develop and maintain the methodology for Product Sustainability Assessments designed to assess the attributes and risks associated with our product families and individual products when warranted.
  • Create and maintain the framework for the analysis, of the contribution our products and innovations make to the four selected priority SDG's

Key Requirements:

  • Strong passion for solving environmental issues associated with product manufacture
  • Hands on experience of quantitative life cycle assessment of products
  • Ability to synthesise and communicate information, both quantitative and qualitative
  • Experience in working with and managing third party consultants and advisors in an efficient and cost-effective manner
  • Educated to degree level in a STEM subject
  • Experience using SimaPro or GaBi LCA tools
  • Understanding of international LCA standards
  • Experience with the development and application of PSA methodology
  • Understanding the of the UN SDG's and the interpretation of the contribution of products to these
