The Key Supplier Technical Manager (SRM) is an exciting and challenging role, bringing together a Global Technology strategy for assigned raw material accounts and ensuring the strategy is implemented through programme management both internally and with the suppliers. A key part of the role is building strategic technical working relationships both internally with senior stakeholders and with our suppliers and will therefore necessitate long haul travel.

Key responsibilities

  • Evolving the global technology strategy for assigned materials
  • Programme and project management to ensure delivery to strategy
  • Establish and maintain collaborative technical working relationships with assigned suppliers
  • Ensure clear, timely and effective communication with senior stakeholders within the sector
  • Knowledge of and interaction with sector and regional business processes in order to effectively deliver programmes and facilitate continuous improvement
  • Technical knowledge of products, raw materials and manufacturing processes to credibly manage technical programmes

Are you the ideal candidate?

You will have:

  • A minimum of a degree in the physical sciences or chemical engineering
  • Significant business experience
  • Proven strategic thinking and good business judgement
  • Proven ability to form strategic working relationships with suppliers
  • High ethical standards and appropriate legal awareness to work directly with suppliers
  • Significant project or programme management experience
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in cross- functional teams or a matrix organisation
  • Excellent communication skills and the proven ability to influence senior stakeholders
  • A knowledge of business processes e.g. new product introduction, procurement would be an advantage
