Senior Procurement Manager required by our Southampton based client. This organisation has gone through significant change over the last 18 months almost doubling the size of their procurement function with further plans to ensure the procurement arrangements reflect the organisation strategy.
This is a very interesting role sitting within the procurement function accountable for driving procurement initiatives across a range of â€œcomplex projectsâ€. Majority of the procurement this person will be accountable for will be very broad and will depend on the challenging research requirements within the organisation.
Due to the nature of this role the job holder must have experience of working in a project driven procurement role and knowledge of public sector regulations and tendering processes.
For the Senior Procurement Manager Role, you should have significant previous experience of preparing tender documentation, ensuring compliance with internal & external procurement regulations, concluding & awarding contracts and delivering savings & associated benefits
- Significant experience of undertaking procurement procedures compliant with relevant organisational and legislative procurement requirements for complex and high risk projects.
- Understanding of how the specialist/professional services provided by the post-holder support the objectives of the organisation, proven experience of undertaking a range of procurement procedures compliant with Public Contracts Regulations
- Able to apply an awareness of principles and trends in a specialist or professional field and an awareness of how this affects activities in the organisation. Including but not limited to understanding issues, opportunities, market drivers etc. in order to ensure procurement arrangements are scoped to meet the needs of the organisation and deliver best value for money.
