R&D Procurement Manager


Our client a leading FTSE Pharmaceutical organisation, who employ 100,000 members of staff Globally, are going through a large transformation project which as a result has opened a number of vacancies in their global Procurement function.

Job Specification:

Take responsibility for delivering or supporting global strategic

You will strategically manage complex categories across the breadth of the R&D spend which will include Laboratory Chemicals, Laboratory Consumables and Laboratory equipment & Maintenance.

You will be responsible for ensuring the successful execution and completion of various types of projects like global/regional vendor selection, implementation of new vendor strategy and training of stakeholders

Development and optimisation of Supplier Relationship Management processes and relationships, negotiation of local rates.

Executing category strategy projects, or sourcing initiatives

Establishing effective project governance by ensuring a robust project structure

Monitoring and mitigating risk by monitoring the progress of projects

You will drive engagement and develop relationships with key stakeholders up to C-Suite level.

Person Specification:

Degree educated or equivalent ideally within Business or Life Science

Procurement experience delivering measurable value in strategic sourcing

Project management experience including risk management, project reporting, and delivering quantitative and qualitative results in complex environments.

Demonstrated understanding of the Lab Supplies and Consumables spend category

You will be working across multiple complex projects from the start through to completion.

Strategic Sourcing experience within the Pharmaceutical industry

Excellent track record of engaging and influencing key stakeholders.

Working towards/achieved your CIPS qualification.

Experience running complex procurement Projects.
