Role: Project Buyer Supply Chain

Location: Glasgow, Scotland

Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 p/a + Package

Requirement: Immediate need for a Project Buyer to support supply chain in an MOD environment. A specialist who can add support across complex and diverse project teams enabling mission critical MOD programmes to achieve success. Managing the supplier responsibilities during delivery, installation and commissioning of key equipment and services.

Function: Develop relationships with key project personnel to become the supply Chain 'Point of Contact' for the diverse project teams.

Working with Engineering, Operations and Quality to deliver equipment from suppliers that meets specification, quality, schedule and cost requirements.

Leading multi discipline activities - e.g. weekly project reviews with suppliers, Factory Acceptance Tests of equipment, quarterly business reviews, supplier visits etc

Role Overview

This will be a fast paced position in which you roll up your sleeves and get your hands dirty with the daily adhoc admin, from raising purchase orders to chasing invoice queries and RFQ's, whilst also being client facing with multi million pound programmes and supporting stakeholder engagement across procurement and Engineering teams at Director level.

I am looking for a dynamic and dexterous individual to support cradle to grave supply chain operational efficiency and longer term strategy. You will be embedded in project teams as the sole representative of the supply chain team across a wide range of complex and high value projects, managing the supplier responsibilities during delivery, installation and commissioning of key equipment.

Experience across MOD, technical engineering adhoc supply chain support, managing multiple projects at once, obsolescence, materials, logistics and professional services, raw material and capital equipment will be a distinct advantage.

Reporting to the Engineering Services Supply Chain Manager core responsibility is managing complex contracts in a delivery phase and ensure services, sub-contractors and materials are available to meet the business stringent project cost and timescale requirements.

This role requires a strong individual with a solid professional knowledge and understanding of Procurement and Supply Chain management principles and practices, including an understanding of the impact and implications of decisions made to stakeholders and suppliers.
