Production Buyer

Our client a Major Global Pharmaceutical organisation is seeking a Production Buyer in this new role as a result of an expanding team. Working within this fast paced GMP environment, your key responsibilities will be:

The Role:

Involvement in Direct and Indirect Buying, particularly around laboratory consumables and equipment

Processes SAP purchase requisitions, managing purchase order process

Co-ordinates open order activity to ensure material is delivered on time

Ensure purchase orders to be delayed or cancelled due to changes in the production schedule are actioned

Ensure that any damaged or rejected stock is returned to the supplier

Ensure that all GMP issues are resolved in a timely manner and the relevant Quality records are maintained and closed in a timely manner

Source and negotiate prices for materials, consumables, equipment and services as required by internal stakeholders.

Ensure relevant contracts are in place for key suppliers

Ensure purchasing, pricing and supplier master data is kept up to date

Manage and co-ordinates activities with relevant suppliers as assigned by the Procurement Manager and provide cover for colleagues where required.

Person specification:

Degree qualified or equivalent

Experience of working in an MRP environment, with GMP experience

Ideally experience from within Food, Automotive or Pharmaceutical or similar regulated manufacturing environment

Have the ability to coach more junior members of staff

Experience of working with ERP systems
