Procurement Manager - Major Projects
Our Client, a Major Global Oil & Gas Organisation are currently seeking an individual for a new position within the team as Procurement Manager, managing Major Projects.
Reporting into the Regional Procurement Manager you'll be responsible for leading procurement of materials, equipment and services for capital projects.
Key responsibilities:
Develop robust sourcing strategies
Engage with suppliers to ensure cost management and quality and efficiency of supply
Work closely with Project Managers and Senior leadership team to execute Capex Projects with values of £100 million +.
Prepare and issue enquiries, requisitions, and purchase orders according to project schedule.
Liaise frequently with Expeditors, Inspection Leads, and Transportation Specialists.
Manage budget for Capital Procurement scope of the project, including the equipment/materials costs as well as Procurement hours expended.
Take responsibility for driving cost-effective solutions throughout the projects
Person specification:
Degree educated or equivalent within Engineering or Business Management with significant experience in either a Technical, Engineering, Construction, Commercial or Project environment ideally with EPC experience.
Have experience in leading execution of requisitions/purchase orders for material, equipment and services.
Have strong project management skills and possess the ability to bring teams together to resolve issues and achieve targets.
Knowledge of commercial purchasing procedures and practice, including aspects of negotiation and contract law.
Be an excellent negotiator with strong influencing ability.
Experience with SAP, or other similar programs would be beneficial.
Accreditation from Supply Chain industry organisation (i.e. MCIPS, CPSM) while not essential is a benefit
