Procurement Manager

Location: Buckinghamshire
Salary: £55,000 per annum
Working Pattern: Hybrid - 3 days in the office, 2 days working from home

About the Opportunity

Our client is seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to lead strategic sourcing and procurement activities across complex, high-value spend categories. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded procurement professional who enjoys negotiating major contracts, delivering cost savings, and partnering with senior stakeholders to drive business value.

You'll manage end-to-end procurement projects worth millions of pounds, identify innovative commercial solutions, and help shape procurement strategies that deliver long-term value across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end procurement activities, from business requirements through to contract award.
  • Deliver commercial savings and value across high-value procurement projects.
  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies in partnership with category managers and key stakeholders.
  • Manage complex procurement exercises, ensuring compliance with relevant procurement regulations and governance requirements.
  • Lead commercial negotiations with suppliers to achieve the best possible outcomes.
  • Identify innovative procurement opportunities and develop business cases to address commercial challenges.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, influencing decision-making and promoting procurement best practice.
  • Support the transition from procurement into supplier management to maximise contract performance and value.
  • Drive continuous improvement within procurement processes and contribute to an excellent stakeholder experience.
  • Monitor market trends and supplier activity to identify opportunities for innovation and improved commercial outcomes.

About You

We're looking for someone who can demonstrate:

  • Significant experience in procurement or strategic sourcing, with a proven track record of delivering measurable cost savings.
  • Strong commercial negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience managing complex, high-value procurement projects.
  • A solid understanding of contracts, commercial risk, and financial management.
  • The ability to influence senior stakeholders across multiple business functions.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Experience working collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
  • Degree-level education in Business, Economics, or a related discipline, or equivalent commercial experience.

Desirable Experience

  • Previous people management or leadership experience.
  • Experience working within regulated industries such as transport, infrastructure, utilities, or the public sector.
  • Knowledge of UK public procurement regulations.
