Role:

  • 'IT Category Manager'
  • Creating, managing and executing strategies for specified global spend categories within the responsibility scope of technology, (predominantly Software with some Hardware focus)
  • Spend of roughly £100M+ in a team, which you will be the lead of.
  • Assuring and maintaining supply, quality, service, cost and innovation within technology category
  • Key Stakeholder Management and translating stakeholder needs into proposals (RFP's)
  • Operating with a global focus
  • Negotiating with suppliers to drive sustainable value from key relationships

Desired Characteristics/Skills:

  • Extensive experience in hardware, software and services procurement
  • Ability to work on a global scale
  • Demonstrible experience of managing relationships with large software suppliers, e.g Microsoft, Intel.
  • Ability to build strong stakeholder relationships at a high level up to VP & AVP in a matrix environment
  • Ability to be a self starter and be proactive and autonomous
  • Very energetic
  • Able to easily get along with everybody and stakeholders can be very diverse so need to be able to adapt style
  • Be able to understand the stakeholders needs and then translate into an RFP

  • Have you ever managed a relationship with a large software supplier e.g. Microsoft?
  • Have you worked in a matrix organisation before?
  • Have you ever driven savings across a role with global focus before?
  • Have you ever worked in an organisation undergoing a technological or digital transformation?
  • Have you ever formally owned the relationship with a senior stakeholder? Have you ever translated the needs of a stakeholder into proposals?
