1st Executive have been retained by a Global 500 Industrial Manufacturing Client to recruit and Interim IT Buyer in Amsterdam for an initial three month contract.

Role

  • Identify and enable opportunities for cost reductions, cost avoidance and service improvements
  • Define and execute procurement strategies to achieve these benefits, cooperating with the IT teams from initiation through to contract conclusion and implementation
  • Build strong and effective relationships both with internal customers and external suppliers to create the framework for the implementation of procurement initiatives and processes
  • Demonstrate a high level of professionalism and expertise in Best Practice IT Procurement and become a recognised, reliable and valued source for the IT & Telecom Category Team
  • Increase awareness of IT Procurement Best Practices and facilitate change throughout the Business

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • At least a higher vocational/professional education with 5-10 years relevant recent experience preferably in an IT Procurement role
  • Excellent in both English and ideally Dutch language (written and oral)
  • Outstanding knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as the single point of contact for IT teams, Operating Companies (OpCo's) and Suppliers on supply matters related to your IT domains
  • Prepare, co-develop, and execute procurement tactics in your IT domains
  • Execute procurement projects, using Ariba as the principal procurement tool and 5-Step-Procurement- Process as its foundation
  • Deliver cost savings and other procurement benefits as required by our businesses
  • Work in close cooperation with the other IT buyers and IT & Telecom Category Manager
  • Assist in other geographies as needed (e.g. APAC and Americas)
  • Develop, analyse, send out & bring back spend and category information to IT teams & Operating Companies through surveys to create detailed sub-category overviews

  • Fluent communication skills (in writing and presenting) in English. (Dutch, French and German are a welcome extra's)

  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and/or flexibility to change approach
  • Able to identify process requirements and improvements focused on delivery
  • Ability to liaise professionally with internal staff and suppliers
  • Good project management skills
  • Both IT experience and Procurement / Sales experience are considered as essential
  • Extensive experience with In- and Outsourcing of IT services and infrastructure is required
