Interim Commercial Policy Advisor

Contract: 7 Months
Location: London
Rate: £470 per day (Umbrella, Inside IR35)

Help shape commercial policy that strengthens critical supply chains.

We're seeking an experienced Commercial Policy Advisor to support a high-profile government programme focused on supply chain resilience and economic security.

Working at the intersection of commercial strategy, policy and analysis, you'll transform complex supply chain intelligence into practical commercial interventions that help strengthen resilience across strategically important sectors. This is an opportunity to influence policy, engage with industry leaders and contribute to nationally significant programmes.

The Role:

• Translate analytical insights into clear, evidence-based commercial policy recommendations.
• Assess supply chain vulnerabilities and identify commercial risks and opportunities.
• Develop practical intervention options to improve resilience and mitigate identified risks.
• Engage with industry stakeholders to validate findings and shape effective policy solutions.
• Produce high-quality reports, briefings and recommendations for senior decision-makers.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure policy is commercially viable and evidence-led.

Requirements:

• Proven experience developing commercial or procurement policy based on analytical evidence.
• Strong ability to identify commercial risks and develop practical mitigation strategies.
• Excellent communication skills with experience engaging senior stakeholders across government, industry or regulated sectors.
• Experience producing concise, influential briefing papers and policy recommendations.
• Ideally, knowledge of complex supply chains, strategic industries, critical materials, manufacturing or economic security.
