Interim Carbon Analyst £50ph

An excellent opportunity for an Interim Data Analyst, with prior experience in greenhouse gas data, to join a world-leading Energy company and drive the development of a single source of truth for data and reporting.

This FTSE 100 organisation sits firmly at the forefront of its field in terms of sustainability, with true aims for carbon neutrality by 2050, and massive amounts of investment going into sustainable energy and the cutting-edge technology and platforms to support.

This is a full-time contract to the end of March 2023, with strong opportunity for extension, offering up to £50 per hour (umbrella, inside IR35), and a hybrid approach to working from home and in their office in South-East England.

The Role:

As Interim Carbon Data Analyst, you will sit in a close-knit team responsible for developing a single source of truth for operational greenhouse gas (GHG) data and internal reporting data, demonstrating corporate delivery against low carbon ambitions.

This is a varied role, centred on GHG accounting, management and reporting. You will deliver against external reporting commitments and carry out financial benchmarking, as well as creating reports on a quarterly basis.

Working directly with the Digital Team and Data Scientists from an external consultancy, you will provide crucial support on the development of a new in-house, data curation tool based in Azure.

You will interact closely with both internal and external auditors on both the data reporting process and data itself. You will be expected to provide data on a planned and unplanned basis to Executive stakeholders, as well as providing curated data and a robust narrative to support external commitments.

Requirements:

  • Environmental reporting experience, with a good understanding of both carbon and reporting.
  • Excellent Excel skills and strong mathematical competency.
  • Prior, strong, data analysis experience.
  • Previous experience working within Oil and Gas.
  • Advantageous would be any Database Management experience.
  • Ability to thrive in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.

This is an urgent requirement - if interested, please apply ASAP.
