Head of Logistics and Distribution

Our client a Major Global FMCG organisation are seeking an experienced Logistics and Distribution individual to join their growing organisation. The role will be to deliver product from the site and Contract Manufacturing Organisations to meet customer expectations, on time, in full and at the correct temperature using compliant processes and procedures.

Role Responsibilities:

To continuously improve the shipping processes, in terms of cost effectiveness, consistency, compliance, performance and quality.

Team management development experience

Manage third party service providers to achieve the on-time, in full delivery, at the correct storage temperature of all products and ship to Customer Distribution Centres

Manage the completion of all SAP transactions

Be a subject matter expert during on-site audits of Distribution Centres

Provide input into key distribution and logistics projects across the network. Specifically ensuring warehousing and distribution channels are defined, in place and effective

The role is a pivotal one in terms of ensuring globally aligned logistics processes throughout the group

Interaction with Commercial functions globally, Global Supply Chain, Global Supply Chain QA as well as Liverpool site functions including Quality and Supply Chain.

A key part of the role will be to solve specific distribution problems and additionally solve and manage global logistics issues and projects.

Be pivotal in continually improving supply chain logistics and distribution, taking advantage of new technologies, processes and systems.

Person specification

Demonstrated leadership of distribution logistics

Strong stakeholder engagement ability engaging with Senior Leadership on issue resolution and present on strategic projects.

Ideally a member of the Institute of Export

Experience of taking a company to Authorised Economic Operator status (AEO) is essential

Demonstrated competence in customs compliance, e.g customs compliance qualifications.

Demonstrated experience and knowledge of cold chain shipping using active and passive systems.

Appropriate qualifications with supply chain management are desirable.
