Head of Global Commodity Management

Location: Poland / Hybrid / Remote but must reside in Poland

We are partnering with a global technology-driven engineering business operating at the forefront of infrastructure and customer-led projects worldwide. As part of continued transformation and growth, they are now looking to appoint a Head of Global Commodity Management to lead a critical function across both direct and indirect spend.

This is a high-impact leadership role where you will shape global procurement strategy while remaining close to delivery.

You will take ownership of a €400-€500mil global spend portfolio across direct and indirect categories, leading an international team and driving value across a complex, multi-site environment supporting large-scale customer projects.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a global commodity management team across multiple regions
  • Define and execute category strategies across direct and indirect spend
  • Drive cost savings, value creation and commercial optimisation initiatives
  • Partner closely with engineering, operations and commercial teams to align procurement with customer project delivery
  • Establish and manage global supplier strategies, SRM and performance frameworks
  • Lead complex negotiations and global framework agreements
  • Strengthen supply chain resilience, risk management and ESG initiatives
  • Champion digitalisation, data-driven decision making and continuous improvement
  • Operate effectively within a matrix, multi-site organisation

What we're looking for

  • Strong background in global commodity / category management (direct + indirect)
  • Proven experience within manufacturing, engineering or project-based environments
  • Track record of delivering meaningful cost savings at scale
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire international teams
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills at senior level
  • Ability to operate both strategically and hands-on ("roll sleeves up")
  • Experience in multi-site, complex organisations
  • Exposure to digital procurement, analytics or AI-driven initiatives is advantageous
  • Degree qualified (Business, Engineering or similar)
