Global Base Oil Category Manager (90K)

1st Executive are currently retained on a Global Base Oil Category Manager (90K) vacancy, with one of the oil and gas super-majors. We are looking for a highly experienced procurement professional, who has relevant category experience within the oil industry. You will be managing $1.2bn spend across an international remit. This role will be based in Reading, but will have a definite element of travel.

Job Responsibilities

• Develop and execute Base Oil strategy with a key focus on new strategic approaches that are being developed
• Lead and oversee strategy execution
• Develop, manage, and lead SRM for Global suppliers
• Plan category review timing at macro level, understanding and promoting aggregated sourcing programme and milestone objectives for each category.
• Lead strategies and initiatives to identify and implement value realising opportunities and deliver identified savings

Essential Experience

• Relevant functional experience and category experience
• Experience in using advanced sourcing methodologies/tools
• Marketing, Manufacturing experience a plus
• Advanced degrees (Masters, MBA) preferred
• International/multinational experience
• Experience dealing with global companies, and working within a global organisation
• Multilingual a plus
