I joined in July 2014 as a contract consultant from another niche agency where I had spent three years. While I already had recruitment experience, there was considerable support in terms understanding the nuances of the procurement and supply chain markets while ongoing training focussed on proven methodologies in terms of harnessing commercial initiative and process to succeed.
This is an environment where you are constantly learning from everyone. Gary and James, as owners of the firm, are still very much hands on and are generous with their time in terms of imparting their knowledge and experience – it’s a much higher level of engagement than I have ever had before and this has developed my confidence significantly.
I think one of the things that impresses me most is that this is not a ‘bums on seats’ organisation. The Directors are committed to getting the right people in to grow the business organically – probably one of the reasons that there is such a low churn rate.
My role involves a large amount of commercial exposure and has given me a detailed insight into corporate business – far more than any other environment I can think of.
