Responsibilities:
Plan detailed methods of solving assigned problems
Give technical direction to purchasing, construction & installation activities, Liaison with internal (engineers & management), and external (contractors, consultants, suppliers
Ensure design compliance with company specifications
Participate in technical reviews
Act as Project focal point for Piping, Valve & Vessel discipline
Involved in implementation of corporate QA plan
Act as client representative
Function as project engineer on smaller projects
Prepare design notes, calculations, specifications, data books & technical documents
Verify, correct, modify & authorise technical documents & drawings
Verify scope of work for piping activities
Verify & validate Material Take-Off's & documentation
Evaluate vendor bids & review vendor data
Instruct designers, draftpersons etc in preparation of process technical documents & drawings
Assist in technical input into start-up & commissioning of designed facilities
Perform & verify stress analysis of above & below the ground piping systems
Control overall stress analysis & critical line list for project
Requirements:
Degree / equivalent accredited, within an applicable Engineering discipline
Extensive, demonstrable experience within pipeline engineering
Good working knowledge of ASME B1.3, ASME B31.4, and ASME B31.8, CAESAR software
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
