Strategic Category Manager - Ostallgäu

My client is a global leader in sustainable packaging solutions and work with a variety of industries such as food & beverage, healthcare, and consumer goods. With a large portfolio of products in the packaging industry, they align with the growing demand for sustainable alternatives in the market.

The Strategic Category Manager will take responsibility for specific categories, including Adhesives, Additives, Hardeners, Inks and Lacquers (including Lacquer Raw Materials).

Main tasks:

• Price negotiations in collaboration with Global Sourcing Manager(s), exploiting the benefits of combining requirements (both regionally and within the corporate group), taking the situation on the relevant procurement markets into account.
• Develop and implement local/regional sourcing strategies for related spend category,.
• Intensive monitoring of the market and ongoing search for alternative materials and suppliers, which are of the same or higher
• Build and maintain sustainable relationships with
• Identify opportunities (e.g. value engineering, innovation, optimization of price, quality, ability to supply, reliability, flexibility and service) and engage with the business to
• Control and maintenance of our supplier's price list for the range of products
• Preparation of the regional purchasing Monitor, control and enforce their implementation

Ideal Candidate:

• Minimum of 5+ years Purchasing experience, preferably in a multinational company
• Experience from a manufacturing (or similar) industry.
• Ideally experience purchasing either Flexible packaging or Inks, Adhesives or Additives
• Demonstrated success in sourcing and Supplier Relationship Management
• Successfully management contract negotiations
• Good communication skills with fluency in business English
• Negotiating & Influencing skills
• Ability to plan and manage multiple projects/initiatives simultaneously.
• Comfortable working in a hybrid environment
• Degree (or equivalent) educated.
